Allen Chang of New York wins WSOP Online Event #5_1

On Sunday, the 2020 WSOP Online continued this time with Event #5. This event was a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Freezeout with 854 players competingFrom: game casino. The prize pool generated was just over $811,000 and after almost eleven hours of playing, it was Allen “Acnyc718” Chang of New York who earned the first-place finish. This was Allen’s first WSOP bracelet and he earned $161,286 for his efforts.

Event #5, like all of the WSOP Online events so far, was a tough one. The competition was fierce, being a mix of amateur and pro poker players. It would take quite some time to reach the final table and then whittle down the remaining players to just Allen and Philip ‘tomte’ Yeh. The two would face off in the heads-up round with Allen holding a three to one lead.

Yeh was not backing down despite being the low chip stack. He would put up a fight and take over the chip lead at one point. However, Allen was not ready to fold and would reclaim the lead and eventually the win.

On the final hand, Yeh would be all-in with 8-6 while Allen held Q-J. Allen’s cards would hold up, giving him the hand and the first place win.
